COMMIT Ministries

COMMIT Ministries has been actively involved in Mainland China since 1995.

Join us for a two week ministry trip!
Build relationships among Christian nationals. Visit various people groups, including Yao, Miao, Dong, Hmong, and many others. Build relationships by serving the local church and two orphanages. Debriefing on the way home in Guangzhou or Beijing.

You can also join us Teaching English for 5 weeks next summer at a city in the interior of Mainland China. Here's a brief report from the last team:

We were given about fifty-six primary kids per class, four times a day.  Between eating, lesson plans, more eating, teaching, daily devotions on a nearby mountain, evening pow wows with Pastor L and the english grammer crew, time was so short and once again quickly learned that we could have used more hands to help.  We know of at least four confimations of Faith and several others who are now making it thier purpose to tell China about God.  Not to mention a girl from HOU MA who had never seen a Bible until she saw mine!   She wrote that she now knows God because of me.  I had no idea. God did  some amazing things in that little town of Peach farmers and things that were GOD SIZED!  Hearing the song, "Jesus Loves Me," in Chinese ringing down the halls is something I will never forget!  One Child asked simply. " excuse me Teacher, who is Jesus?"  He was only about seven.  Dont worry;  this question was answered thoroughly by our translator friend and believer.  He wasnt the only one who asked.  We taught far more scripture verses through memorization drills in one month here than I think I have ever taught in a regular month at youth group back home along with explanations and examples from our own lives to testify to the truth of God's word.   Pretty groovy.   A mountain was in the distance and we were told that 100 years ago Christians were killed near there.  Not to mention we could see the Chinese Army base from the view half way up the mountain.  Talk about God's hedge of protection.  It was amazing!

All teams conclude their trip with 1-2 days of debriefing in a major city such as Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Some Fall teams have debriefing at our facilities in Hawaii.  We are absolutely commited to the necessity and Biblical basis for allowing all team members to use the debriefing process as a time to allow you to relax and process what God has been teaching you during your mission trip and prepare you for your return home.

We'll also help you to prepare to "tell your story" to your family, friends, and home congregation and use your experience to help others "catch the vision" for World Evangelization!

UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS

Throughout China live 55 ethnic minority groups comprising about 7% of China's population (1.3 billion), most of whom have never heard the name Jesus Christ. That's 91 million people.

COMMIT teams build lasting relationships among the Zhuang, Miao, Dong, and Yao peoples, as well as with people of the Han majority.  Our teams are well-received and often invited to share their testimonies in places as diverse as churches, on buses and trains, at outdoor cafes, and while touring cultural parks and historic sites. Come and be amazed at the many ways God uses you to share the most important message in all the world.
