HELP Read™ is a clipboard reader

If you have ever copied text on your computer, you may or may not realize that doing so places an exact duplicate of the text you have selected into a very temporary part of your computer’s memory.

Step 1 Select Some Text to Copy: Point just in front of the red “H” above.  Your pointer should turn into an I-beam indicating that you have some ability to interact with the text on this page. While holding down your left mouse button, drag across the text down to the end of the last sentence of the paragraph above.

Step 2 Copy Your Text: Copy what you have selected by any one of the following methods:

  • a) go to the “Edit” drop-down list on your browser, then select “Copy”
  • b) or, use your “Alt” key combined with the underlined letters you find along the way, as in “Alt+E” (the E is underlined in the Edit menu name), then “Alt+C” (once the Edit menu is open you’ll see the C in Copy underlined)
  • c) or, use the keyboard shortcut that’s noted across from Copy “Ctrl + C” shortcuting the need to visit the Edit list every time you copy something

The text you selected should now be duplicated in an invisible area of your computer called the clipboard.

Step 3 Start HELP Read: Without going offline or closing your web browser, Click on your Window’s “Start” button and go to “Programs” folder to find the HELP Read™ folder and click on the HELP Read™ program to open it.
