Web Page reading
HELP Read can read the text from web pages in two ways:
To Enhance Your Reading of Web Page Text, Download the READ WEB BOOK (readweb.bok): place this file in the HELP Read folder [c:\HELPREAD] you created on your computer when you ran the Setup Instructions
In most cases, using the clipboard could be the least confusing of the two methods because the alternative direct method will tend to read everything it sees as text including text-based hyperlink menus and sidebar content.
However, many web sites such as those posted by government agencies tend to be straight text making the Web Page reading feature an excellent tool for the researcher or student needing to cover vast amounts of material with reinforced (both-sides-of-the-brain) retention.
HELP Read must know where to find your browser
That’s it! BUT, please keep in mind that there have been many different versions of browser since we started employing this feature. On some machines, you’ll get a false error message, or need to select the Web Page menu selection more than once to start the web page reading. The readweb.bok add-on above can greatly improve your web page reading.
