A Two Word Mission Statement

The ongoing mission of HELP Read™ is captured in the two words that make up the name of our free software. Where we depart from the past is in a clear realization that one-on-one methods need tools to enhance the teaching and learning effort while encouraging individual strides in improvement.

Recognizing a Mounting Problem

Over the last eight years it has remained apparent that the need to be literate is a core ingredient in almost every pursuit of ones education and lifestyle.  With the increase demands of a modern era, today’s literacy has experienced the added challenges of understanding computers, the internet, and the accompanying technically specific language added to the common terms of everyday communication.  With education resources already stretched, there is no wonder that results are slipping. Still, social evolution beckons changes while education struggles to teach along its same old standards.  In itself a fixed position might pose enough of a crisis were it not for the fact that so many suffering the categorization of the slow-to-learn still do not have enough in the way of adaptive and assitive learning tools.

Literacy Requires Invention

Literacy also requires affordablity, much like the success of paper and pencil becoming attainable for those coming from the uneducated populations. Keeping pace with today’s knowledge base is the commanded domain of a very few from the teaching sector, meaning that those in knowledge positions today may be among those considered illiterate tomorrow. One day technology and the teacher’s methods will melt together much in the way that barbers became surgeons, perhaps higher pay will call them to the task. At any rate, advances in teaching and independent learning will be required and those who accept that fact will find solutions.
