The CLASSIC pastime in Hawaii is eating the plate lunch! Whether you get your plate lunch from the franchise drive-in quasi-restaurant, hole-in-the-wall greasy spoon or the nomadic lunch wagon, the quality and quantity can vary with each location.

The purpose of this site is to critique the purveyors of plate lunches here in Hawaii and occasionally, other areas as well. Many selections are based upon word-of-mouth recommendations so email me if you have a favorite.

Note:
The reviewer is not affiliated with any of the places reviewed. The reviewer paid for his meals. The reviews and comments represent only my ( and sometimes a companion's) opinion and is based upon what was purchased and eaten that day (burp!) Sometimes restaurants have specialties that were not available when I came by. Like any establishment, restaurants sometimes have a "bad hair" day. My comments are basically limited to the day (or days) I visited. The reviewer is not a professional chef, cook, etc. and these critiques are my opinion of my culinary experiences with local grinds- the plate lunch!

Aloha,

Bruddah Richard
