And I sez:
Like real estate, the most important part of running a plate lunch wagon is location, location, location. Most plate lunch wagons have a set location that they go to. They want to make sure that their customers know exactly where to find them. Curbside Cafe takes this concept one step further,
they set up on Punchbowl Street next to the main library from about 10:30 to noon, and then move to the Mililani Street location from Noon to 1:30. We're talking about a 2 1/2 block move- that's what you call service!

On any given day you will see lines of people, a few minutes before the designated arrival time, waiting at either location for the Curbside Cafe. What makes this lunch wagon somewhat unique
is that they serve at least one Filipino dish per day- even blood sausage. the Filipino dishes usually will sell out before any of the standard plates.

Pancit/BBQ chicken Plate

On the day I visted Curbside Cafe, Pancit- a Filipino noodle dish containing pork, onion and beansprouts sold out just before I was able to order. Luckily that last order went to Kramer look alike Roy, so I had a chance to trade and taste the noodles. I ordered the BBQ chicken/spaghetti
combo. The pancit was good, not greasy, a light refreshing taste. The Pancit noodles are a thin noodle, kind of reminds me of Japanese Somein noodles. The BBQ chicken was moist and not overcooked. The sauce was kind of skimpy so the chicken did not have much taste. The spaghetti was good, it was the baked type that you used to get in elementary school- I should have asked for
the cheese part of the dish.

Is that Cosmo Kramer? No, it's plate lunch expert Roy enjoying
his Pancit/BBQ chicken combo plate

Most plate lunch wagons have a following, people wait for their lunch time fix. Even for blood sausage at the Curbside cafe because you'll find it on their menu every Monday. Does that dish always sell out? They always make it so there must be a demand.
