JESUS: COUNSELOR
DECEMBER 7, 1999
ISAIAH 9:2-7

Wars within yourself and internal conflict or struggling to find Jesus is a matter of heart, not of surroundings. God will restore you to a peaceful relationship with Him. Just speak with Him on a regular basis and allow Him to give you the wise counsel so needed. Jubilation and worship will follow. God is faithful to us and we need to show our faithfulness to Him. God put on my heart the following lyrics by Margaret Becker.

" Tonight by the glow of a firelight you found the courage to speak your mind and tear down the walls you’ve been hiding behind. You spoke of your struggle, you cried from the pain. You spoke of your failure and then you turned in shame. You said you knew you’d never be all right. So many of us spend so much time smoothing things over, pretending we’re fine, as if life could ever be so cut and dry. But you my friend have passion at heart, it will curse you sometimes, but it can take you far, if you let Him tame it, you will be just fine. It feels like you’re crawling over broken glass, crying a river into the pillows of your past, but you will be free. God’s not afraid of your honesty. He can heal your heart if you speak honestly. Humble sorrow and an honest cry. He will not pass you by".

Isaiah 9:2-7
“2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. 3 You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as men rejoice when dividing the plunder. 4 For as in the day of Midian's defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor. 5 Every warrior's boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire. 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and for ever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.”
