The Hawaii JuJitsu KoDenKai - AJJF
Sanctioned - DanZan Ryu JuJitsu Summer Camps are the opportunities of a
lifetime!
The cabin site is on Oahu’s North
Shore, which is known for it’s local culture, mountains, jungle, and palm tree
lined, soft sandy beaches. Nearby are the incredible Waimea
Falls with the only Cliff
Diving Championships in the U.S.
You’ll be near the famous "Banzai Pipeline" surfing beach. Just
a short walk down the highway in the other direction is the International
Polynesian Cultural
Center and the Laie shopping
center and theater.
Ka
Lae Hale "The Point House"
Ka Lae Hale is Located 30 scenic
miles from the Honolulu International Airport, the camp is in lush tropical
forest surroundings - yet still near a main highway and on the public bus
route.
This Hawaii vacation rental boasts a
breathtaking sunrise ocean view, located on the opposite end of Waikiki, away
from the hustle and bustle. You will be captivated by the beautiful and
majestic Koolau Mountain Range and spectacular Pacific Ocean that borders Ka
Lae Hale with a private lagoon and beachfront. Ka Lae Hale is located in the secluded
town of Ka’a’awa, Oahu.
It is one of the few areas in Hawaii
that has remained untouched by the hands of modernization. A walk out
through the huge grassy front yard goes directly to Sunset
Magazine’s favorite beach in Hawaii.
A Real
JuJitsu Camp
The goal of the HJK
is to have a camp dedicated to many facets of DanZan Ryu JuJitsu, and we
will try to explore as many of them as possible.
- There will be classes on all
the Kata Arts. We will help you master those seemingly
difficult techniques. AJJF/AAU Freestyle and Kata Contest training will be
available as well.
- Did you know that Hula is not
only a dance, but the kata form of an ancient Hawaiian martial art and is
part of DZR? What arts are they? Take the Warrior’s Hula class from
a kumu hula (hula master) and find out.
- Did you know that Prof.
Okazaki was good at knife throwing? Learn how from Sensei McLaughlin
in a special Knife
Throwing Course - instruction booklet included!
- Since Hawaii is surrounded by
ocean wouldn’t it make sense to learn how to do JuJitsu in the
water? Take the MizuJitsu
class! Get an intro to SCUBA too.
- Massage will be another
important priority as well as Kappo, and Seifukujutsu.
Schedule
- We offer 2 two-hour HJK/AJJF
accredited classes per day - morning and afternnoon, or evening. Other
times are open mat. Quite often there are 3 classes per day,
depending on schedule, weather and available instructors.
- There will be three
continental-style meals offered each day, breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Students provide their own snacks. There is a full kitchen,
and cookout areas.
- If you want to take this
opportunity to spend a week on a low calorie, lean and healthy diet,
eating the local exotic and delicious fruits and vegetables, working out
hard, swimming, tanning , playing and partying, then this is the place to
be!
Transportation
Although we are in a camp area
there is a very good bus service to all local spots. THE BUS is Hawaii’s
public transportation system and has excellent and inexpensive service to
all sites and towns on Oahu. Due to
the difference in schedules of all student’s arrivals and departures, we
cannot offer a comprehensive airfare package or land transportation to and from
the camp. Students may wish to bus or car pool. Please E-Mail us and we will
help organize the Car Pools.
The basic camp 4 days and 3 nights. Three
meals per day, indoor sleeping, tent facilities. Two instructed workouts per
day
