Feeding the Homeless Ministry Team

The Mililani Baptist Church college/career single's ministry is currently and actively involved with the homeless shelter for The Institute of Human Services (IHS). Every fourth Saturday of the month food is brought to the Mililani Baptist Church kitchen facility in preparation for the transport of the food to the homeless shelter at IHS. Members of the church bring chili (canned or homemade), and dessert such as cupcakes, cookies, and brownies. The salad is also donated monthly by HPC Foods ( a local vendor on Oahu). Once the food is prepared it is transported to the IHS facility where at least 160 or more homeless people are fed.

When the food is transported to the IHS facility at least seven volunteers from the college/career single's ministry form an assembly line to prepare 160 or more plates of food. The IHS also provides food which is served with the chili, dessert, and salad. Much of the food at IHS are from donations which are always welcome. Many of the workers at IHS are volunteers outside of the homeless shelter and from within.

If you would like to become a part of this ministry or would like to know more about it please call Mr. Andrew Large at Mililani Baptist Church (808) 623-2559.
