EARTHCARE TASK FORCE, this month: Thursday, November 3, 3:30pm at the Meetinghouse. This committee is presently working on discerning where the Meetinghouse can save energy and have a smaller "footprint."

OUTREACH INTEREST GROUP, First Saturdays of each month, this month: November 5, 1:00pm-2:30pm at the Meetinghouse. This group is interested in reaching out to the community, letting more people be aware of the exsistence of Quakers here on Honolulu.

BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP, First Sundays of each month, this month November 6, 11:45am at the Meetinghouse. "I take thee, Serenity" by Daisy Newman.

HOUSE & GROUNDS WORKDAY, Second Saturdays of each month, this month November 12, 9:00am-11:30am at the Meetinghouse, House & Grounds Committee meeting following and lunch provided afterwards. Come and enjoy rewarding work, spruce up the house and grounds, good fellowship and delicious lunch.

MEETING FOR WORSHIP on the OCCASION of BUSINESS, Second Sundays of each month, this month November 13, around noon. Join us to see what other committees have been doing and how Quaker decisionmaking process for the group as a whole is conducted. A gathering to do the work of the community. Quakers rely heavily on small groups that labor together to conduct necessary business. These are brought to Business Meeting for attention or action. When members open themselves and truly attend to each other, a sense of the meeting emerges and unity is achieved, as well as a deepening of community.

BIBLE STUDY, Third Thursdays of each month, this month November 17, 3:00pm, at the Meetinghouse, This month they'll be going through Acts 13-19. All are welcome. It is said they sometimes wander off the written word but are always on topic when it comes to attenders' spiritual journeys.

PIZZA & MORE, Third Fridays of each month, this month November 18, 6:00pm, at the Meetinghouse, Join us for companionship, conversation, card and board games.

LIBRARY COMMITTEE meeting, Third Saturdays of each month, November 19, 2:00-4:00pm, at the Meetinghouse. You can read their interesting book reviews each month in our regular newsletter issues.

FIRST DAY SCHOOL COMMITTEE meeting, Third Sundays of each month, this month November 20, 8:30am, at the Meetinghouse (downstairs). Visit our "Sunday School" and see how we explain our Quaker values and testimonies through stories, crafts and field trips.

VISITING SUNDAY LUNCH, usually the Fourth Sundays of each month, this month cancelled. A gathering of Friends and visitors mingling small talk or weighty discussions with a hearty, healthy lunch.

PEACE & SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE meeting, Fourth Sundays of each month, this month November 27, 12:15pm at the Meetinghouse, downstairs. the committee members explore issues of peace and social justice and educate and assist Friends in their work for change.

HAWAII PEACE & JUSTICE PROGRAM COMMITTEE meeting, Fourth Mondays of each month, this month November 28, 6:00pm at the Meetinghouse. The successor to American Friends Service Committe of Hawaii (AFSC-HI), their work in Hawai'i began in 1942 with a program of service to Japanese residents suffering persecution after the Pearl Harbor bombing. The present office started with Friends' opposition to the Vietnam War in 1968 and continues with grassroots work.
