See cause and effect relationships between art and history
Steps:
Research Spanish painters by completing the activities in the Amsco book on Spanish painters
Do practice activity to review effective search techniques on the Internet
Find at least five sources on the Internet about Spanish painters
Make chart of Spanish painters as suggested under test
Choose one Spanish painter and write a 500 word paper in Spanish on him/her. Paper should emphasize the paintings, characteristics of the paintings and how the history and culture of the time influenced the painter's works. Include a bibliography with your paper.
Make revisions as suggested by the instructor and include a copy of the final version in the portfolio.

Get an overview of some of the famous Latin American painters
Continue to appreciate different styles of painting

Same as Spanish painter paper except substitute Latin American for Spanish
Report on 'la Catrina" and "Diego Rivera"
Since Catrina is a famous Mexican figure and Diego Rivera is a famous Mexican artist, it will be interesting for you to study a specific example of how history and art are related.
Steps:
Read related culture notes in Catrina workbook and in Amsco workbook
Find at least 5 related sources of information on the Internet
Write a 500 word paper in Spanish explaining the connection or relationship between La Catrina and Diego Rivera. Put the two into historical perspective. Include a bibliography with your report.
Revise as instructed and include a copy of your final version in the portfolio
